I have wanted to start a blog for a while. But not just a personal blog that only my family or friends will view...
Sure there will be posts about my family and scrapbook layouts about my family and friends, but I want this to be more. My husband just walked in, saw the title and got a little nervous... afraid I was inferring something is wrong with our life. Not so, not so. The big things are in place. The right husband, two amazing kids, a roof over our heads, food on the table, good friends and good health. So what isn't as it should be? The little things that would make the whole of the big things even better! A cleaner house, with less clutter and better organization would be bliss. More balance between family-time, couple-time and me-time is an ever-present dilemma that I know I'm not alone in trying to figure out a solution for... a topic well-covered in books and magazines and blogs! Sometimes these topics will make it into a blog post and possibly a scrapbook page because life isn't just about the fun pictures you take on vacation. Life is real and raw and unless you dig a little deeper, when we look back at our scrapbooks, future generations will only see a perfect life, without the "stuff" that made us, our families, who we are!
Of course you will also find lots of crafty inspiration here. Mostly from the wonderful world of digital scrapbooking, which I entered full-force in early 2009! Paper scrappers don't run away! I find inspiration from traditional layouts all the time and I hope you will find my digital style worthy of a longer look! I am a Creative Team member for Designer Digitals and their products will fill the majority of my pages. Every now and then I will make a traditional/paper page, usually to submit to a magazine for possible publication, and I have lots of fun with that! I think I have definitely found my calling with the digital medium though because I am constantly in awe of the creativity that flows on the traditional pages I see in the scrapbooking magazines! My paper pages are simple with few embellishments, but with digital I feel a certain freedom that lets me explore new techniques and go wild with embellishments. Please join me on my journey through life and scrapbooking... I would love to hear your comments!
